On Wednesday April 22nd, a team from Barnstaple Baptist Church took part in Barnstaple's 2nd 'Tidy Up Our Town' event. It was good to serve the community in this way and, as it was also 'Earth Day', it was very appropriate that we were caring for God's creation. Here are just a few photos from our time on the streets.
April 25th saw over 30 of us go to Speccott Barton (near Great Torrington) for our annual Church Awayday. David, our Minister, led sessions on "The Five Core Values of a Gospel People"; we enjoyed a fine lunch provided by Debbie and Mark, our hosts; we walked, or swam in the swimming pool after lunch; and concluded the day by celebrating communion. A good day was had by all!
The Hughes family attended the Baptist Assembly (the annual gathering of Baptists in England and Wales) which this year was held in the town of Bournemouth on the south coast.
Here are a few snaps from the event - several are from Prism, the emerging worship gathering that has developed at the Assembly over the last 4 years. Other photos are taken byfreefotouk who has made them available for reproduction (see freefotouk at www.flikr.com for restrictions).
